Pure Pet Food

Pure Pet Food - Naturally Dehydrated

We have received a Chicken Dinner by Pure Pet Food.

About Pure Pet Food

http://purepetfood.co.uk/
www.purepetfood.co.uk

"Pure Pet Food was established by Mat and Dan, who came up with the idea of producing a pet food which is dehydrated.
Although this is a much longer process than making a dry or wet dog food, they believe it is time well spent and the only option to do the ingredients justice.
Dehydration removes the moisture from the natural and human grade dog foods, locking in their nutrients and goodness whilst preserving them.

So how does it work?
Pure Pet Food comes in a dehydrated from. Once placed in a dog bowl, warm water simply has to be added to it. After leaving it to rehydrate for 10 - 15 minutes, it can be fed to the dog."

Chicken Dinner in its dehydrated from.

Chicken Dinner after being rehydrated.

Review: I have tested a few dehydrated dog foods before, but honestly have to say that Pure Pet Food is the best dehydrated food so far. Unlike many other dehydrated dog foods, Pure is actually looking like wet food once rehydrated!
While Rocky was at first not too impressed, taking his time to investigate the food, he started liking it very quickly. The food is mushy but yet with chewy pieces which look like real meat and vegetables.
I am overall very impressed with the Pure dehydrated dog food. Rocky seemed to like it and it was easy to make. A little bit goes a long way as well, especially when a dog is as small as Rocky is. I also like, that you can individually adjust the amount of water you add to rehydrate the food. In summer when it is hot, one can easily add a bit more water to keep the dog hydrated, when not drinking enough water. I think Pure Pet Food is great and convenient.

Fleischeslust

Fleischeslust (Carnality) - Species-appropriate Animal Food

We have received a packet with food for Rocky by Fleischeslust.

About Fleischeslust

http://www.fleischeslust-tiernahrung.de
www.fleischeslust-tiernahrung.de

"The heart-blood Austrian Susanne Rutzinger-Kurpas got to know the sled dog sport through her present husband and quickly developed the same passion for this unusal hobby.
Today, both are living in the middle of the Bayerischer Wald national park, together with their around 20 quadrupeds. Next to sporting dogs there are also the two house and sofa dogs Max and Schnappi.
Over 3000qm exercise area, as well as modern kennels ensure a balanced and peaceful cohabitation in the pack, in which also the two housedogs can unfold themselves. While in winter all the leisure time is targeted towards training and race participations such as for example the legendary Alps trail, the dogs are kept happy with obedience exercises, agility and bike trips from Spring until Autumn. Thereby the whole pack joins together for "free run" long bike rides for up to 30 kilometers.

In such a close pack formation, both can also observe the constant defecation behaviour of each individual dog. Especially under physical stress, it can quickly become apparent how compatible and good food is received, as well as used. Furthermore, it shows in which situations the digestive tract is especially demanded, but also how the fur and muscle growth develops. Today, both are 100% followers of barf, as there were both clear and visible advantages to high-quality dry food in regards to tolerance, as well as physical exercise.

 In particular these advantages are:
  • Quicker and more apparent muscle growth, therefore a lower injury vulnerability
  •  Greater vitality and stamina performance
  • Obvious minimized risk of dehydration, especially in power range
  • Reduced food quantity in comparison to dry food at consistent weight level
  • Amount of faeces with clearly improved condition of faeces
  • Clear increase of appetite
As both are on the way a lot with their many sled dogs, especially in the wintermonths, they developed a wish to produce a wet food that comes most close to the proven barf meat, particularly as the storage and refrigerating opportunities are limited. Thus, the high qualit  Fleischeslust Wet Food range was developed, as well as compelete new power snacks which are especially developed for the needs of sporting dogs under physical stress.

I like that this natural chew products were kept quite big so that they have to be properly chewed by the dog. Small treats are great treats for rewarding but I also find big chews important for the dog.
A friend's dog was able to enjoy the Filet Mignons and ate them with pleasure.

Review: The Deer Minis are really great! They are very small and are therefore especially suitable for small dogs or for the training. Even though the Deer Minis are air-dried, I think they are nevertheless soft and slighty juicy, which is why Rocky could chew them easily. Rocky was anyways super excited about the Deer Minis and couldn't get enough of them.

Review: The vacuum-dried Horse Meat is of the same consistency aas the vacuum-dried Game Meat. It is slightly dry, which is why it takes a bit longer to chew. Furthermore, the Horse Meat is slightly smaller in size than the Game Meat. Rocky yet still liked these.

Review: The Meat & Treat look quite like wet food when cut open, however the consistcy is a lot harder. Review: Rocky also liked the flavour Horse. The consistency was at the beginning slightly jucier which made it more difficult to take as a treat for on the go. Moreover, the Meat & Treat Sausage should be feed within a short period of time as it does not last for a long time once opened unlike other treats.

The food sausage was very juicy and one could see the individual ingredients. Great that 100% of the ingredients are declared so that one knows exactly what one feeds the dog.

(Source: www.fleischeslust-tiernahrung.de/shop_de/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&page=shop.browse&category_id=98&Itemid=104 Translated by me)

Review: Rocky also really liked the Red Deer flavour and he immediately ate it. The consistency is again very good, not too dry and not too liquid but yet firm. One can also see the ngredients in the Food Sausage such as Potatoes, Parsnip pieces and the Wild Berries. Great product.

Lean Turkey with Rice, Potatoes and Green Lipped Mussel

"Ingredients: 80% Meat & animal by-products (comprising of Turkey Liver, Turkey Heart, Turkey Necks, Turkey Skin) from the food production as well as Rice, Potatoes, Green Lipped Mussel Extract and Safflower Oil.

(Source: www.fleischeslust-tiernahrung.de/shop_de/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&page=shop.browse&category_id=79&Itemid=104 Translated by me)

Review: The consistency of the Turkey flavour was less juicy and therefore more firm which might be due to the grain content, the rice. Rocky liked eating this Food Sausage even though it was a bit drier. Nevertheless, this Food Sausage is not suitable for dogs with a grain allergie due to the grain content.

Pure Lamb with Millet

Description of the Pure Lamb with Millet:

"Ingredients: 80% Lamb Meat & animal by-products (Lamb Liver, Lamb Rumen, Lamb Lung, Lamb Paste, Lamb Heart) from the food producion as well as Millet & Calcium.

Analytical Constituents: Crude protein 12.10%, Crude fat 6.90%, Crude ash 2.10%, Crude fiber 0.50%, Moisture 73.90%."
(Source: www.fleischeslust-tiernahrung.de/shop_de/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&page=shop.browse&category_id=69&Itemid=104 Translated by me)

Review: The Lamb Food Sausage was also a drier Food Sausage with obvious more fat content. I was missing the vegetable content in this Sausage. I think it is important that dogs also eat a bit of vegetables which is why I think it would be good if even once vegetable type would be in the Food Sausage.
Nevertheless it was eaten by Rocky.

Overall Review:

Overall, I can 100% recommend the Food Products by Fleischeslust. The ingredients are all well declared which is why one knows exactly what one feeds the own dog. Furthermore, there is a great choice of Wet Food Menus, Treats, Pure Meat Cans and Food Supplements, as well as raw and cooked Freeze Meat. Also, cats don't miss out either at Fleischeslust.
So there is something suitable for everybody!
